Welcome to Finstead ("the App"). By creating an account or accessing the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The App is operated by TECHKNOCK LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 14107787). These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy (available at finstead.co.uk/privacy), which explains how we handle your data.
1. Use of the Service
Finstead provides an automated data analytics layer designed to help users track personal spending and identify potential financial efficiencies. You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the United Kingdom or the European Union to use this service.
2. Absolute Financial Disclaimer (Non-Advisory Status)
- No Regulated Advice: Finstead provides automated data insights, spending comparisons, and mathematical suggestions for educational and informational purposes only. TECHKNOCK LIMITED is a software developer, not a regulated financial institution.
- Not an Advisor: We do not provide regulated financial advice, investment advice, debt counseling, or tax advice under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA).
- User Responsibility: Any suggestions generated by the App (including subscription cancelation options or switching recommendations) do not constitute a formal recommendation. You acknowledge that any financial actions you take are based entirely on your own independent judgment.
3. Suggestions and Affiliate Relationships
Some suggestions — for example, switching to or signing up for a third-party product or service — may include referral links from which TECHKNOCK LIMITED may earn a commission, at no additional cost to you. This does not influence our analysis: suggestions are generated from your own data, not from any commercial arrangement, and are not an endorsement or recommendation of any provider. You are always free to act on a suggestion or ignore it.
4. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales (including your statutory rights as a consumer).
Subject to the above, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TECHKNOCK LIMITED shall not be liable for any financial losses, missed savings opportunities, regulatory issues, or damages arising out of your reliance on automated insights or information presented within the App. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from the service is capped at £50 or the total amount paid by you to use the App over the prior 12 months, whichever is greater.
5. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
6. Changes and Contact
